I am the founder of the site along with being a writer and researcher.
At times, I am the tech specialist who works in the background.
I created this platform because I understand what it is like to seek practical and straightforward advice on working remotely, especially guidance tailored for Romanians.
I understand the struggles of trying to figure out which digital skill to pursue next, landing my first freelance job, or legally relocating abroad with nothing more than a laptop and a brave heart.
Why I Started This Site
The inspiration for creating ReteleleMele was my own experience navigating freelancing and remote working opportunities. I noticed that I wasn’t alone and there were thousands of Romanians like me, intelligent and eager to grow, but lacking proper direction. This is not just a blog; it is a platform for finding solutions with detailed guidance and perhaps the assurance to try new things.
Be it remotely applying for jobs, getting PFA taxes filled, or researching working visa options for overseas employment, I aimed towards creating a one stop solution that addresses our concerns. No fillery. No fake victory narratives. Only effective methods, and step by step guides tailored for Romania.
My Background
I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communication and Online Business which covered topics like web-based freelancing, SEO, and online platforms. This certainly provided me with a bit of exposure to the digital economy, but the bigger half came from scraping and putting things together, knowledge that I built by sifting through loads of reading material and trial and error.
My professional beginnings consisted of a mix of rudimentary content writing, entry-level SEO projects as well as working for overseas clients. Nowadays, I am familiar with remote content writing, freelance legal compliance, remote job finding, and the intricacies of cross border taxation for EU digital nomads.
This is the culmination of research, hands-on experience, and everything else on this page.
What I Do Now
Currently, I teach in content creation, basic design, SEO, and digital communications. I counsel beginners interested in learning Digital Skills content creation and communication. As a freelancer, I tell my story — the good, the bad, and the truth behind freelancing.
In the section Freelancing, I explain step by step how Romanians can start working online, how to charge for your work and how to protect yourself from being scammed. In Freelancing Abroad, I cover dealing with foreign clients, visa options, moving abroad, and legal issues pertaining to residing and working in another country.
About remote jobs, I also cover building a remote career which pays well. In addition to describing platforms, I explain Remote Jobs. And in Taxes & Legal, I detail filing for a business in Romania, tax obligations, invoicing, cross border business relationships and users rights.
